The 2019 World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO) had 750 participant from 23 nations and was conducted at SETEC, Seoul, Republic of Korea from 26 July (Thur) until 28 July (Sat).

Hosted by Korea University Invention Association, The World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO) is the only international invention Olympic present, where participants are growing each year to provide an outline of the upcoming 4th industrial revolution and its technology. Chairman of Korea University Invention Association (Prof. Lee Ju-Hyung) has commented that through the gathering of creative participants and future inventors, our global society was able to get together and contribute to our environment, while foreseeing the future of science.

At the 2019 World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO), the Grand Prix Award was awarded to Hanoi University of Science, of Vietnam and Chienkuo Technology University of Taiwan. The Grand Prix award given by WIIPA was awarded to Korea’s Choi-Gyeong-Yeong, and the Malaysian Team.

 In addition, Erfan Yalan (Iran), Taguig Integrated School (Philippines), Miss Boonyada Sangmanee (Thailand) and Dao Duy Ta High School (Vietnam) have all received the Excellence Award.

In specific, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand had over 100 participants in their group showing contribution to the World Invention Creativity Olympic. This has showed and proved that the mentioned nations will thrive to become the best science nations and their creative invention education policies will too support their way to become the leading nations of science technology.

The World Invention Creative Olympic is now at its 8th year, providing platform for early-stage inventions, and is growing each year due to increasing participants. Therefore, it has become Korea proud invention Olympic. Not to mention, a participant from Sudan joined the event with a 24 hour flight. In addition, World Traditional Beauty Contest was held at WICO 2019 showing variety within the World Invention Creativity Olympic.
